The “Coach” Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine “The Prep Sports Report” in 2000. In 2010, the “Coach” started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. The show can be heard “LIVE” every Saturday from 9 AM until 11 AM live. The Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week – Calvary Day School Volleyball Player & Cheer Savannah Cheerleader Southern Britt 4.22.2017
Southern Britt, a senior at Calvary Day School, was a volleyball player, and she also cheered for Cheer Savannah. Britt has had a great volleyball career for the Cavaliers. Britt graduates with some prestigious honors. As a junior and senior, Britt was selected a 1st and 2nd team member of the Greater Savannah Morning News All-City teams and won back to back GHSA Class " Volleyball Championships. This year Britt applied and was accepted as a student at the University of Georgia and what a way to end your high school career.
Well, Southern didn't waste anytime. She set her sights to use her Cheer Savannah cheer skills to be a college cheerleader. Britt applied to try out to be a Bulldog cheerleader and was accepted. As Southern's high school career ends her dream came true, and she made the University of Georgia Cheerleader squad. You can listen to Britt's interview at the Karl DeMasi Sports Report Podcast page.

The Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week – Effingham County High School Football/Soccer Player Mackenzie Stewart 4.15.2017
Mackenzie Stewart, senior, a 4' 9" placekicker in football/middle defender in soccer, has turned peoples' heads on the football and soccer field. As a placekicker on the Effingham County High School Football team, she converted 25 of 30 extra points, and booted a 29-yard field goal to win a game against Richmond Hill. On the soccer field, she anchors one of the top defenses in girl's soccer in the area. Stewart has also scored a goal and assisted on five. An article written in the Savannah Morning news on March 2, 2017 by Donald Heath had a quote from Head Coach Blake Kessler had this to say, “She’s immensely passionate about winning, very driven,” he said. “She takes everything seriously. She’s a leader in practice, a leader on the field, and she’s very good at keeping others motivated.” The Lady Rebels have advanced to the sweet sixteen of, the GHSA 2017 state soccer playoffs as of this post.

The Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week – Windsor Forest junor Soccer Player Erik Ullola 4.08.2017
Erik Ullola, junior soccer player and captain at Windsor Forest High School, scored twelve goals and ten assist from his middle defensive position. "He is one of the reasons we are so successful this season so far," stated Head Coach Cam Turner. "Erik is the probably the best player in Savannah. He sacrifices his skills to play defense for us. He is an all-around player and could be our best midfielder if he played there." Only a junior, Erik also plays on an elite travel soccer team and is one of the top soccer players in the area. Windsor Forest has one back to back region titles, last year in 3-AAAA and this year in Region 3-AAA.

Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week – Memorial Day School senior Baseball Player Chris Grubbs 03.11.2017
Chris, a 6' 5" new edition to Memorial Day School athletics, plays first base, outfield, and pitcher. Grubbs had a night to remember as he went 3 for 4 at the plate with a grand slam and 10 RBIs to lead Memorial Day to victory over Robert Toombs Christian 15-7 on March 10, 2017. Then on March 13, Chris, continued being hot at the plate going 3 for 3 with a pair of homers, including another grand slam, a double and seven RBI to help the Matadors to a 20-3 win over visiting Twiggs Academy.
