Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week – Calvary Day School Senior Basketball Player Catie Thomas 02.04.17
Catie, a 5' 7" senior point guard and shooting guard at Calvary Day School, knocked down a big three point shot with 8 seconds left in the game versus Woodville Thompkins to give the Lady Cavaliers a 64-63 lead. The Lady Wolverines came down court and missed a winning shot and that meant Catie’s shot put Calvary in sole possession of first place. Thomas finished as the games high scorer with 22 points. This also makes Catie a two-time recipient of the Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week.
Futhermore, Catie also excels on the softball field. She is an all-state second-team shortstop and All-Region 3-A (East) first-team selection and a Savannah Morning News All-Greater Savannah first team selection. Thomas had a great year at the plate with a .346 batting average with a .424 on-base percentage. Catie had seven doubles, 28 runs and 15 RBIs. As quick as Thomas is on the basketball court she was quick on the base paths. Catie stole 17 bases and was only caught once. She wants to play softball and basketball at the next level. Congratulations Catie and click on the link to listen to Catie’s interview.
