The “Coach” Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine “The Prep Sports Report” in 2000. In 2010, the “Coach” started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. The show can be heard “LIVE” every Saturday from 9 AM until 11 AM live. Adriana, a senior outfielder at Richmond Hill High School signed to play softball at Charleston Southern. Garrett helped the Wildcats reach the state tournament three straight years.
Adriana had an exceptional senior year on the diamond. Garrett hit .394 with three home runs and 24 RBIs and had a .955 fielding percentage. Adriana was all-region and all-state as a junior and senior.
Adriana is believed to be just the second Wildcat to play Division I softball after Jennifer Katzman. Garrett, a center fielder, was told by Charleston Southern Head Softball Coach Shane Winkler told her he believed she can start at that position as a freshman. Adriana plans to major in business so she can come back to work in the family business or real estate.
