Davis, a junior shortstop-pitcher for the Sharks, hit .718 (28 for 39) with seven doubles, four triples, five home runs, and 41 RBIs in fourteen games this season. Rebecca’s on-base percentage was an astounding .796 and her slugging percentage was off the charts at 1.487. You can say other teams didn’t want to pitch to her as she reached base with fifteen walks.
Maxpreps.com has Davis in the top five in Georgia in batting average, on-base and slugging percentage and was also ranked top five in the nation in those categories. Davis has been recognized as a first team all-region player as well as a Savannah Morning News 1st team All-Greater Savannah softball player as a freshman and sophomore. Dezmond Brinson senior - Savannah High School - Football
In a victory over Groves High School on September 19th, Dezmond had a hot hand in the first quarter. Brinson finished the first quarter 8 of 12 passing for 102 yards and two scores. Before the half was over Dezmond would add 63 more yards, and another scored rushing on the ground in the opening half. Brinson's total at the conclusion of the game was 14 of 20 passing with 166 yards, three touchdown tosses, rushed for 101 yards on just six carries with a touchdown.
Dezmond also excels in the classroom. Earlier in the year, he made a verbal commitment to play football at one of the top Ivy League Schools in the U.S.A., Cornell Unversity. So, as you can see this young man excels on the gridiron but most of all in the classroom. Congratulations Dezmond on a job well done.

Winston Wright, Jr, Memorial Day School, Football
Winston, as a sophomore All-Purpose football player at Memorial Day School had a great sophomore season. Wright ran for 1,039 yards and 14 touchdowns while he averaged 11.1 yards per carry. Winston also added 700 receiving yards and three scores. Furthermore, Winston played defensive back and has picked off six passes in his short high school career per southernpigskin.com.
Going into his junior season, Winston has gotten a lot of college looks. As Memorial Day School, Athletic Director Mark Sussman stated to me, “This kid has done the recruiting process properly. He is gone to a lot of camps for over two years. And this past summer played on a very impressive seven-on-seven team. Winston works hard on and off the field as he maintains a headmaster's list type GPA.” The teams that have made an offer to Wright to play at their school is an impressive list. Offers have come from Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Mercer, Troy, University of Central Florida, Western Carolina, and Western Kentucky. Teams that have shown interest are Boston College, Illinois, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Tulane per Winston and 247sports.com.
The season had just started and Winston is one of the top players the Savannah Area. Listen to the podcast and you will see why he has impressed so many schools and coaches. That’s why has been the Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week for August 26, 2017.
