The Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week – Former Calvary Day School & Now Savannah Bananas Baseball Player Chris Bashlor 06.24.17

Chris Bashlor - Rising Sophomore Lipscomb University/Savannah Bananas C/DH

Chris had an outstanding high school baseball career at Calvary Day School graduating in 2016. Bashlor was named the Savannah Morning News Baseball Player of the Year in 2016 as he led the area with a .587 batting average and a .714 on-base percentage. Behind the plate as a catcher, he was almost flawless with only being charged with three errors, which was a .980 fielding percentage. In Chris's senior year, the Cavaliers reached the GHSA Class "A" Private Baseball Championships Final Four.

Bashlor had numerous college offers and decided on Lipscomb University in Tennessee. Chris had to deal with injuries during his freshman year and was assigned a red shirt year. That did not matter to the Savannah Bananas as Chris was offered a contract to play this summer at Historic Grayson Stadium in the Coastal Plain League an MLB sponsored College Wooden Bat League. Chris reflects on his freshman college season and playing in Savannah as he explained on the Karl DeMasi Sports Report from 6.24.2017 Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week segment.
