The “Coach” Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine “The Prep Sports Report” in 2000. In 2010, the “Coach” started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. The show can be heard “LIVE” every Saturday from 9 AM until 11 AM live. Shae Leverett - junior South Effingham High School
Shae scored her 1, 000th career point against Glynn Academy on January 6, 2015 in a big region win.
Shae this year is averaging 17 points, 15 rebounds a game; 1.3 assists per game; 3 steals per game, and 3 blocked shots a game playing center for the Lady Mustangs. Besides scoring over 1000 points she has also grabbed over 1100 rebounds in her career. Leverett has 21 games this year where she has a double double and this simply unheard in high school basketball. Ijeoma Odimgbe senior Center Sol C. Johnson High School
The skinny on IJeoma also known as EJ by her friends and teammates at Johnson High School is that she is ranked as the 19th best prep female basketball player in the USA at forward according to ESPN HoopGurlz.com and she has only been playing basketball since 9th grade. What is amazing Odimgbe signed a national letter of intent on November 11th to play Division I basketball next year at the University of Oklahoma.
This season Odimgbe is leading the Lady Atomsmahers on the court. EJ is averaging a double double on the season. She is scoring 13 points per game and grabbing 12 rebounds per game. Besides the unbelievable statistics, being 6'4, she changes the opponent's shots when they drive to the basket and is averaging 6 block shots per game.

Makayla Robinson junior Point Guard Effingham County High School
Robinson notched her 1, 000th career point against Ridge View (S.C.) High School on December 29th. Makayla this year is averaging 15 points a game; 3.3 assists per game; 3 steals per game, and as a point guard is grabbing six rebounds per game. She is only a junior and one of the top female prep basketball players in the area. Congratulations Makayla.

Senior Stevie Powers – Benedictine Military School Football
Stevie the quarterback at Benedictine Military School was a leader on Benedictine’s football first ever state championship football team. Powers passed for 3373 yards, by completing 177 of 260 passes, which is a 68% completion rate, 32 touchdown passes and only being intercepted just six times.
Powers was rewarded as being named the Savannah Morning News Football Offensive Player of the Year, ESPN Radio Savannah AM 1400 & 104.3 FM Co-offensive player of the Year and the ESPNCoastal.com Co-offensive Player of the Year. Furthermore, Powers was part of Benedictine’s state baseball team this past May.
Stevie will take his athletic talent next year to Southern Mississippi to start his next athletic adventure as a Division I college pitcher. Powers signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball. Congratulations Stevie on a great year!
